This week, I\u2019ve highlighted two posters from Justicar Territory on Coruscant. The Justicar\u2019s Brigade is not one for subtly, but these\u00a0posters display\u00a0two distinct styles worthy of examination.<\/p>\n

The first one is almost patriotic with its splash of\u00a0stars and stripes. The promise of protection alludes to the Justicar\u2019s origins as a group of disgruntled soldiers looking to retake their neighborhoods abandoned by the government after Darth Malgus\u2019 Sack of Coruscant during the war.<\/p>\n

\"handoflaw-thumb\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The hopeful tone, however, did not last. Other posters are much more ominous in design and message. This second poster\u2019s sickly green color and warning make it clear that the Justicars are less interested in protection than maintaining order.<\/p>\n

The inverted chevrons in both posters illustrate this change. In the first, they sweep upward and indeed seem to lift and support the planet at the top of the poster. The second poster, however, is weighted in the opposite direction, and the chevrons have become oppressive and point\u00a0the composition down. You don\u2019t need to read the Aurebesh to know exactly what the message is.<\/p>\n

Justicars love their propaganda\u00a0and there is much more to be found. I\u2019m certain to return to this subject in the future.<\/p>\n
